Born in L.A. then transplanted to Cabo San Lucas when he was a grom. He started out skating and surfing but over time he took those two talents, combined them, and started putting the time in on a skimboard. Over time he realized skimboarding was his board sport and he has never looked back!
The first time Steff rode was in Sea Isle when she was twelve. She's proud to say that she's one of the only girls in the world that actually prefers front side and place in the top 4 at almost every contest she attends. Not only is Steff an award winning skimmer , she loves to skateboard as well.
Toeknee says his goal is to make skimming real and not to sugar coat anything in it "its a real sport with real people". He's also an avid editor & photographer and an Administrator at the Jersey Shore Skim Camp.
The name is Jonathan Howell, I live in Naples, FL. I have been skimming since I was 10, competing since I was 15, and went pro when I was 18 or 19. I'm 22 now, so it's definitely been a long haul and I love it. I just want to get a shoutout and thanks to my parents for all their support, my friend Ryan Rataj because he never stopped skimming with me unlike everyone else who fell off the earth.
Lovett's American parents raised him in Mexico's Cabo San Lucas since he was 2 months old. Often described as the life of the party, James is a fearless wild child whom also can be described as a charismatic, lovable personality. As a past Ultimate Boarder Champion, James has a the ability to professionally progress and challenge board sports in water, on land and in snow.
Tim first expressed his talents through skateboarding, but due to the strong influence of skimboarding in the area and his friends, he soon picked up the sport that he is best known for today. Tim is very ambitious, striving to be and do the best in anything he does. His dedication to the sport and having some of the best skim spots in the world right in his backyard, he is quickly becoming one of the best.
Helen started competing in SKIM USA events a decade ago and was the girl's amateur leader for five consecutive years before moving into the amateur women’s division. Now in college, Helen is pursuing a degree in Meteorology. Best described as friendly and outgoing, Helen has a desire to succeed in life, and has the commitment to make it happen.
Alex has been around the ocean and the beach his entire life and started skimboarding at age 11. He really started taking skimming seriously at age 14. He's skimmed places people wouldn"t even think of such as Greece and Egypt. Alex is always looking for things to help him progress in the sport such as the the older people that he skims with.
Brittany is 17 Years old and a senior in high school. She plans on attending college to study engineering next year. Brittany has been skimming for about three years now. She started competing at the 2008 VA Beach ecsc where she placed first in the girls division. She now competes in the Womens division in the skim usa Tour.
Janssen spent his childhood and teen summers with his Grandparents in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Although he grew up surfing he quickly picked up skimboarding around 14 years old. In the early 2000's he found his way to Virginia Beach where he started to compete in the Skim USA tour. Janssen won the 2010 championship in the Grand Master Division. He strives for excellence in all aspects of life.
